First 4 to respond win!
Type something to respond to this to hold your place. Then read the poem and the rules. Then you have 8 hours to PM me your decision.
With the Christmas season among us, I am in a giving mood so there will be four winners this time. So hopefully those of you who have missed out before will get your opportunity.
There is one catch, though. Unlike previous Transferamas, There will be a theme that you must abide by this time. The theme is “Christmas gifts”. Something that a child would love to have for Christmas. After reading the story, you will have a better understanding of what I’m talking about. The gifts would be designated for particular girls and boys who have had a tough time and need something special. Now that doesn’t mean it has to be an expensive or extravagant gift (but it can be). It can also be something relatively small or cheap (is your fondest memory of a childhood toy an expensive one, necessarily?).
So let’s try to keep it at least a bit real in what a child would really want or need. Keep in mind Santa can shrink things to fit in the sleigh and down the chimney. Nothing super huge (Santa doesn’t deliver elephants and cruise ships). It can be any kind of toy; from the simplest trinkets to ones for the big kids. It doesn’t have to be a toy. It can be something an adult would like to have. Just anything Santa might bring. I will even allow one or two winners to choose an animal if they wish. And if you think TFing elves is mean. Well then you have the option of sparing your elf.
The characters in the scenario are from left to right: Elf 1 (male), Elf 2 (female), Elf 3 (male), and Elf 4 (female). So pick your elf!
Santa's Slackers
As Santa’s departure awaited at bay
Ol’ Chris wouldn’t board on this most cherished day
“Scott, my chief elf, I cannot fly on my way
I’m missing four bags of gifts. Why the delay?”
Scott flew with a flash to the hard working elves
Who were retooling their stations and sweeping their shelves
“Where’s sector ten!” echoed Scott’s panicked cry
“Haven’t seen them in days” echoed from a loft far and high
Scott searched every crevice in the huge frozen lair.
Until he came upon a cove beneath a forgotten set of stairs
Where lay his little minions among the missing bags of gifts
Where they had been for several days instead of working their shifts
“What have you been doing” Scott proceeded to say
You were supposed to load these bags onto the back of Santa’s sleigh!”
The four elves ignored Scott’s passionate plea
As they shuffled their cards and sipped their spiked tea
“And the gifts! The special ones!” Scott’s voice quivered out
“For less fortunate kids who have long been without!
For each elf has a duty to make one special gift
Every year for a child, who needs that extra lift”
"Piss off!” smacked Scott’s ears like a sharp stinging slap
“You’re bugging us now and it nearly time for our nap”
Scott grasped his heart “Is this some sort of strike?”
One flicked his smoke at Scott and said “Go take a hike”
They proceeded to laugh and continued their game
As Scott stomped his foot, which started to flame
Scott clenched his fists as his temperature rose
Pulsing with steam from his ears, teeth and nose
He summoned his magic, in billowing rage
He knew never to use; even at this stage
But his reason had left him for the moment so brief
As his elves’ behavior was beyond his belief
A glow from his fingers made a tight snapping arch
As he raised his hands, which proceeded to spark.....
